In one of the most beautiful Mexican States, Guerrero, bathed by the Pacific Ocean, in a privileged geographical area, is Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. About 450 kilometers from Mexico City, and a little over 250 kilometers from Acapulco. This picturesque fishing town is an absolute paradise surrounded by mountains, a vast tropical jungle and the sea. It has a unique combination of nature and ambiances that deliver tranquility, exuberance and quite complete and accessible tourist services.
Zihuatanejo, now modern, still maintains the atmosphere of a picturesque fishing town that's made it attractive for the many tourists that visit it year after year. The modern tourist complex of Ixtapa, 7 kilometers away from Zihuatanejo, despite its modernity, Acapulco style, has kept intact all its natural attractions: almost virgin beaches, year round sun, crystal clear waters and soft waves; exotic birds and diverse vegetation. It has more than 30 kilometers of beautiful beaches. On the Zihuatanejo Bay are the most recognizable and famous beaches. These are protected beaches with clear and tranquil waters, apt for practicing the sport of your preference. The best Zihuatanejo beach is the Playa de la Ropa, with mild waves and golden sands, 10 minutes from the Center of Zihuatanejo. La Madera and Las Gatas are two spots that you must also visit.

Many cruise ships usually stop at the Zihuatanejo Bay.
ACTIVITIES - WHAT TO DO
In Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo you can enjoy every water sport there is, among which ski, parachute jumping, water tricycles, snorkeling, jet ski, banana boating, surfing, etc. For diving lovers, there are tours for diving through spectacular sites. Those who wish to practice high fishing in open waters, at least ten miles from the coast, will also be pleased and taken in boats to those places, where they can fish tuna, sailfish, etc.
The excellent tourist development of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, on the Mexican Riviera, is dazzling. With its typical fishing town, to walk on the narrow streets is just charming.
History also has its place, as you can go visit the Museo Archeológico de La Costa Grande. You'll find remains of the Olmeca, Teotihuacan and Tarasca cultures in Zihuatanejo.
Golf is very well developed here, as there are spectacular courses for its practice. Other sports that are popular here are bicycling and horseback riding, as well as a tour around the city and the country, or maybe go to the island, or go sailing on a small boat or a cruise ship.
In terms of gastronomy, the restaurants offer typical dishes as well as international cuisine, and the service is great. In regards to shopping, you'll find picturesque shops and typical markets in which you can purchase traditional crafts and the hottest international items.

Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa have an exuberant vegetation and semi-tropical weather, with temperatures between 26°C in the wintertime, and 32°C in the summertime, with an average of 260 sunny days a year.
