Puerto Vallarta is located on the Bahía de Baderas, Mexico, in the Jalisco State, and it's bathed by the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by the incredible mountains of the Sierra Madre. It's the third most important port of Mexico, with 40 kilometers of beach within the impressive Bahía de Banderas. Puerto Vallarta offers neverending possibilities for eco-adventurers to enjoy the Pacific Ocean.

The Marina Vallarta deserves a special mention, because it's the biggest in Mexico, having the capability to accomodate over 35 meter long yachts. It's surrounded by the best hotels and restaurants in town, and this makes an excellent spot for those who enjoy navigation. Authentic beaches invite carefree relaxation on the Bahía de Banderas, all with soft waves, and safe to swim all year round. There are nearly 40 different beaches on the bay, the color of the sand and the water changes according to the particular beach. Some have very fine sand, others have coarser sand, and the colors of the sea range from blue to turquoise. The most famous and visited beach is, with no doubt, the Playa de los Muertos, on the south of the promenade, with an exclusive area for the gay community. On the beach, there are several hotels, restaurants and bars, which are ideal to enjoy the sunsets. On this beach is the sea horse which is considered the Vallarta icon, forged in bronze.
